M2 Architecture designed this residential project situated on a spectacular site adjacent to the woodland edge of the Wissahickon Creek section of Fairmount Park. The project includes an addition and renovation to an existing 3 bedroom cottage, a guest cottage and natural pool.

To meet the stringent stormwater regulations of the Wissahickon Watershed, the project includes a rainwater collection system that captures rain in an underground cistern and reuses the water for toilets, washing machine and outside irrigation. The natural pool features a planted bog that functions as a bio-filter for the adjacent swimming area. No chlorine or other chemicals are needed.
