M2a Architecture is providing ecological design consulting services to Lilley Dadagian Architects for this new science building for a private school. One of the goals of this new science teaching facility is to foster a closer connection to the natural world among the students, staff and school community.
In support of this goal, M2a organized and delivered an initial educational presentation to the design team and client representatives to kick off the project. Subsequently, we have reviewed the ecological design goals and strategies at each phase of the project and provided ongoing input to the design team. Along with monitoring the LEED Rating checklist, we have also provided recommendations for how the building can reveal the ecological design strategies so users begin to understand these environmental impacts and how our individual and collective decisions can improve the environment. Finally, we have assisted the client in preparing fund-raising materials focused on the building’s green design features.
